The food safety of the paper and its impact on the environment is becoming increasingly important when using food wrapping paper, as environmentally friendly packaging is becoming the new standard.
Most of the greaseproof papers on the market use added greaseproof agents to achieve oil-proof effects, and some use raw materials that are mostly non-food grade, such as greaseproof by coating with silicone oil, which makes it difficult for these products to meet food use standards and brings hidden dangers to food safety.
Now, Nature Paper has introduced a new kind of food packaging paper: Biodegradable Water-based Polymer Coated Food Wrapping Paper.
What is the water-based coating?
The basic principle of water-based coated paper is that organic biodegradable molecular materials are covered on top of the paper using coating and laminating equipment. The organic biodegradable molecular material is used to perfectly fill in the small gaps in the paper's surface that were originally pitted, thus making the paper coating surface smooth and flat. The intermolecular fibers and the fibers of the paper are linked, allowing the paper and the coating to be tightly bonded and forming a water/oil resistant biodegradable film layer.
This water-based polymer-coated food wrapping paper can meet the needs of customers and meet the subsequent transportation and use of the product, thereby replacing the original plastic-coated laminated products, to achieve paper instead of plastic.
Is water-based polymer coated paper oil resistant?
Biodegradable Water-based Polymer Coated Food Wrapping Paper has good oil and water resistance and is breathable, making it suitable for packaging hot food.
The film layer formed by the organic biodegradable molecular material can have effective prevention of grease, water, sauce and condiment penetration, ensuring the freshness of food and making it easy to pack food without staining customers' hands or clothes.
At the same time, it is porous enough to allow steam to escape when heated, preventing steam from condensing into water inside the package and affecting the taste of the food. It is breathable paper and is ideal for packaging hot, greasy fast food items such as French fries, popcorn, fried chicken, burgers, or as basket liners and plate liners.
Is the water-based coating environmentally friendly?
Unlike most food wrappers on the market that are coated with grease inhibitors or silicone, Nature Paper Biodegradable Water-based Polymer Coated Food Wrapping Paper does not contain harmful substances such as PFOA, PFOS, mineral oil, etc. It is recyclable and biodegradable and can replace fluorinated greaseproof paper, PE laminated paper and wax-coated paper currently on the market. Water-based coated greaseproof paper is safer and more environmentally friendly and is a revolutionary product that follows the trend of sustainable development.
